The Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School Ltd. celebrates the opening of its new executive business campus in Sydney in style
Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School (BMIHMS) Ltd. is striving towards an ambitious development plan and is moving from strength to strength. On the 2nd April 2012, BMIHMS celebrated the official opening of its new Sydney campus in the heart of the city at 540 George Street, directly opposite Town Hall. A variety of guests from the hotel and hospitality industry, from the education industry as well as many proud alumni were present to see the unveiling of the plaque announcing the official opening.
BMIHMS’ foundation campus, located in the beautiful Blue Mountains, just west of Sydney, has been operating for more than 20 years. The new state-of-the-art Sydney campus is establishing BMIHMS as Australia’s leading hotel management school with world class learning outcomes. The Sydney campus is also the location for BMIHMS newly launched Postgraduate program which has been developed in conjunction with leaders from the hospitality industry as a response to the increasing demand from the leading hotels for skilled managers.
During the event, BMIHMS CEO Guy Bentley explained that “the Sydney campus represents an outstanding opportunity for our students to be close to major hotel brands and employment opportunities”. Guest of honour, Dr Jerry Schwartz, the largest private owner of hotels in Australia addressed the gathering, praising the school for its quality of graduates and best practice formal training to future industry leaders. Other guests of honour included Roza Sage, the proud MP for the Blue Mountains, who took leave from parliament to attend the opening, as well as Paula Singer, CEO of Laureate International, who flew in from the United States and Rachel Argaman, the CEO of Toga Hospitality and head of BMIHMS Industry Advisory Board. The impressive turnout at the Sydney campus opening demonstrates the high regard that BMIHMS is held within the hospitality industry both in Australia and abroad.
