The Chinese consul visit BMIHMS in Australia

7 May 2013

Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School (BMIHMS) was extremely pleased to receive the recent visit of Mr Demin Zheng, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Sydney who toured our Leura campus.

The visit of Mr Zheng emphasises the growing reputation of BMIHMS and of our Bachelor of Business degree courses in China.

Mr Zheng provided time from his busy schedule to take a tour of our Leura campus, which is located 90 minutes from Sydney. Mr Zheng’s meeting with BMIHMS staff, as well as students from China and Hong Kong is a great recognition of our growing success, and of the international perspective of our courses.

Our Hotel Management students were able to enjoy time to speak with Mr Zheng during lunch at one of our campus restaurants. This provided Mr Zheng a chance to hear from our students who, with our team, highlighted our unique approach to education. Mr Zheng saw that our business model focuses on experiences, care, attention and nurturing provided to each student on campus. He also discovered how our 3 pillars education philosophy develops the whole persona and creates very enriching experiences.

Mr Zheng also used this opportunity to inform the Chinese students: “BMIHMS students going back to China can get their Bachelor of Business degree recognised by the Chinese embassy in Sydney. This will assist you on your return to China and in your career”.

While on campus Mr Zheng was also introduced by Mr Guy Bentley, CEO of BMIHMS to Mrs Rosa Sage, Member of Parliament for the Blue Mountains region and strong supporter of BMIHMS.

Mr Bentley concluded the visit by highlighting:  “We have worked closely with China for over 20 years and it’s a great honour to receive this visit and endorsement by Mr Zheng, which further strengthens our relations with China. We take a lot of pride in being the best Hotel Management School in Asia and in ensuring the best careers are attained by our students in China or anywhere around the globe”.
