5 Tips for Making the Most of Your Time at Uni

Your time studying with BMIHMS at Torrens University is going to be special! You will meet some pretty amazing people, from all over the globe, and make friends that you will stay in contact with for the rest of your life. The time will fly by, and before you know it you will be walking across the stage at Town Hall collecting your testamur.

As an individual, you will grow, learn and be inspired as you are immersed in everything a hospitality lifestyle has to offer. These are our five pieces of advice for anyone embarking on this amazing journey with BMIHMS. We look forward to meeting you at an alumni event very soon!

1) Seize every opportunity
Don’t be afraid to jump out of your comfort zone and try something new! BMIHMS at Torrens University creates numerous prospects for each individual. Seize the moment and do the best you can. Opportunities don’t come around often, and at the end of the day, you have nothing to lose!

2) Be prepared to fail
The support provided by the university guarantees the success of every student, with guidance delivered where needed. Failing is okay. Remember that it is temporary, we are continually learning and improving ourselves!

3) Get connected
BMIHMS at Torrens University is the perfect stepping stone to make connections for the future. Every event provides an opportunity to meet alumni and influential people working in the industry. You never know when another door may open.

Create a LinkedIn account and keep in touch with all your classmates and colleagues from placement. Wherever you end up – domestically or internationally – you will remain connected.

4) Explore
Don’t forget to take a break and enjoy what Leura and Sydney has to offer. Visit icons like the Three Sisters, Scenic World, Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera house, or on a hot summer day, take a stroll along beautiful Bondi Beach and soak up the sun.

5) Enjoy the ride!
Time will disappear with a blink of an eye, and before you know it, you’ll be graduating! Enjoy the ride and make the most out of a once in a life time journey.
