With the hospitality industry having a distinctly international appeal, we acknowledge many potential hotel or event management students come from countries and cultures where English is not their first language.
For those who may not meet the degree program’s English language requirement of IELTS 6.0, the Leura campus incorporates the Academy of English. Here, each 10-week program aims to improve English by IELTS 0.5 until the required IELTS 6.0 is achieved, after which students can then gain direct entry into a Blue Mountains degree program.

Students who’ve completed Certificate IV in Business at any college as part of the Academies Australasia Group in Sydney may be granted a credit transfer for the first year business core subjects in any of the undergraduate programs.
This can cut down the time taken and fees needed to complete the degree. For example, students could have come from overseas to start their studies in Sydney and may still be undecided if they wish to continue into a degree course. Completing Cert IV means that they can be given credit for some units should they wish to pursue a hospitality management degree at Leura in the Blue Mountains.
