Bachelor of Business
A business degree is not just about business. In today’s diverse and dynamic workplace, a business degree is one of those rare university qualifications that offers flexibility, adaptability and global portability.
And graduates with a business degree specialising in hospitality (hotel or event management), can easily find themselves working in sectors such as tourism, aviation, transport, IT, human resources, marketing and sales, as well as communication or consultancy in either the public or private sector.
Students start at the Leura campus to gain the practical component of the course and reside on campus for two years. In the third year students will complete their studies at the executive business campus in Sydney.
How the business degree program works
- Study is full time taking 2.5 years – modules are fast-tracked allowing students to start careers earlier as well as save on tuition fees.
- Intakes throughout the year in January, April, July and September.
- First half of degree completed at residential campus, Leura, Blue Mountains.
- Remaining business units conducted at non-residential campus, central Sydney.
Graduates in Hotel and Resort Management also quality for a Diploma in Hotel Operations from Les Roches – one of Europe’s leading hotel schools.
Paid industry placements
Numerous Australia and overseas hotel/tourism operators partner with us in placing students in two paid hospitality jobs during their business degree, each lasting up to 24 weeks.
Students put into practice the skills learnt at the Blue Mountains hotel school, gaining real-life work experience that counts towards their degree. The paid placements also allow crucial contacts and peer networks to be developed. And the money earned can save on tuition fees as well as be put towards travel.
Accreditation
Our undergraduate degree is Federal and State government accredited. We also exceed Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) requirements.
