Find out first-hand what it is really like to work in hotels and managing events, and the awesome career opportunities available.
We’d like to invite you to a special event on Thursday 14th of June, where you can meet recent graduates who are excelling in their careers, and students who will soon finish their studies with BMIHMS and follow their passion – creating memorable guest experiences.
You will have the opportunity talk one-on-one with alumni, discussing their careers to date, why they have chosen a career in this industry and seek advice to help you make the right decisions for a successful career. In addition, there will be a facilitated Q&A panel session talking about the future of the industry, the ambitions of our alumni and discussing where their initial interest came from for hospitality.
In attendance on the evening will be:
Upon graduating from BMIHMS, Scott commenced a Corporate Leadership Traineeship with Park Hyatt Sydney. This highly sought after program is providing Scott with in-depth cross-departmental experience in luxury hotels – building upon his foundations gained whilst studying with BMIHMS – which will allow him to continue on a fast-tracked journey to becoming a hotel general manager with the Hyatt brand in Australia or internationally.
Scott already has international work experience on his CV, after completing his first Industry Placement in the UK at Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill. Recognising the value of brand loyalty, Scott remained with the Hyatt brand for his second Industry Placement, working at Park Hyatt Sydney, where he has continued to work.
As an events enthusiast with a passion for high end luxury experiences, completing an event management degree with BMIHMS was the perfect pathway for Amber to kick-start her career creating one of a kind events. Currently Amber works as an Events and Catering Executive in one of Sydney’s most prominent venues – overlooking Darling Harbour, at the Hyatt Regency Sydney.
Now in his final term with BMIHMS, Michael will soon complete his Hotel and Resort Management degree. With a keen interest in resorts and casinos, Michael is set to follow his passion with The Star Entertainment Group where he has continued to work since his second Industry Placement. In 2017 Michael was recognised as a rising star within the industry, and was awarded a Minister’s Student Achiever Award in Tourism and Hospitality Studies.
