This is an easy way to get an approximate net cost of a Blue Mountains degree if taking into consideration the potential earnings from part-time work and Industry Placement. * All figures are stated in AUD. Potential earnings is based on AUD$15.96 per hour (gross minimum wage before tax) for the number of IP hours selected plus any part-time work. Minimum wages outlined in the National Workplace Relations system are reviewed by Fair Work Australia annually.  Figures are correct at time of publication but fees and earnings are subject to change.

Calculate Fee

Domestic students have no limit to the hours they can work part-time provided their work does not interfere with their studies. International students can work a maximum of 20 hours per week on their student visa. One academic term is 12 weeks.

Students have the possibility to do more IP hours than required (600 hours for the Bachelor of Business and 800 hours for the Masters degree for each placement) and on average undergraduate and postgraduate students work 800 hours on each IP.

This figure is tuition fees only. Living costs, text books, uniform, overseas health cover and tools of the trade are not included. For undergraduates living on campus in Leura is compulsory for four terms and a room and board package applies. For undergraduate and postgraduate students studying at the Sydney campus living costs are the responsibility of the student.

If third year students, or postgraduate students, require accommodation in Sydney (subject to availability) the cost for 2012 is AUD315.00 per week. These newly furnished 3 and 4 single bedroom apartments are just a short bus ride, or walk, from campus and linen, crockery, cutlery, kitchen equipment is provided.

FEE-HELP (Australian Citizens Only)
Australian citizens entering the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School are able to apply for immediate assistance for their tuition fees through the FEE-HELP loan scheme from the Federal Government. For more information on FEE-HELP please visit www.goingtouni.gov.au

Laptops
Students are welcome to bring their own laptop on campus and it can be connected to the wireless and networks. IT requires all laptops to have the latest anti-virus software installed. If you are interested in purchasing a laptop you can contact a preferred supplier www.jabbtech.com.au.

Text Books
Students can purchase their text books in advance from The Co-op Bookshop. The Co-op Bookshop will maintain a stock of the required course books for the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School. To purchase the required course books from The Co-op Bookshop Online, simply follow the steps below:

  1. Visit The Co-op Bookshop
  2. Click on Book Search – select Text List Search.
  3. From the drop down menu 1: select Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School and the relevant semester.
  4. Click Search.
  5. Select the relevant subject i.e. BUS101  Business Statistics.
  6. Click View Text List.
  7. Add items as necessary to the Shopping Basket i.e. ensure items required have a tick in the selection box, click Add selected items to Shopping Basket.
  8. Choose Continue Shopping or Proceed to Checkout and follow the steps as directed.

NOTE: Members of The Co-op Bookshop Members can save by purchasing at Member Price. To become a Member of The Co-op Bookshop, simply click on the membership link and complete the form. There is a once off $20 membership joining fee.
