Scholarships

Blue Mountains Hotel School is pleased to announce that a total of 20 domestic scholarships are available for the January and April 2013 intakes.

National Scholarships (Australian Citizens)

A total of two scholarships available.:

• One (1) AUD$10,000  National Scholarship for the July 2013 intake.
• One (1) AUD$10,000 National Scholarship for the September 2013 intake.

All the scholarship amounts will also be credited towards the residential fees.

Motivational Scholarships (residents of Australia and New Zealand)

A total of fourteen scholarships are available:

• Two (2) AUD$5,000 and two (2) AUD$3,000 motivational scholarships for the July 2013 intake.
• Two (2) AUD$5,000 and two (2) AUD$3,000 motivational scholarships for the September 2013 intake.

All the scholarship amounts will also be credited towards the residential fees.

The closing date for July 2013 scholarship applications is May 31st 2013. For September 2013 the closing date is August 23rd 2013.

Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School Applications Process

To apply for these scholarships applicants are asked to submit the following information:

• BMIHMS Completed Scholarship Applications for your desired intake – July or September 2013 must be submitted.
• A cover letter outlining their merit and need for the scholarship, personal qualities and achievements as well future aspirations. For the National Scholarships this needs to be at least 500 words.
• Resume outlining their schooling, work experience, extra curricular activities, career goals, interests and hobbies etc.
• Certified copies of any certificates and transcripts received (including year 11 & 12 results where applicable).
• Letters of reference from a teacher, or employer

Applications to study events management or hospitality in Sydney or Leura will be judged on all aspects and merit of the application and is only available for the January or April 2013 start dates (scholarships cannot be transferred to another start date). For the National Scholarships the selected applicants will be invited to attend an interview which may involve phone, face to face and panel interviews/workshop.

The successful applicants will be requested to assist with certain duties during their time as a student. These responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, becoming members of the SRC and assisting with visitor campus tours.
