Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School (BMIHMS) at Torrens University, is the Number 1 Hotel Management School in Asia Pacific and Number 3 in the World (Kantar 2020)* will host the next Leadership Speaker Series (LSS) at its Town Hall Campus in Sydney next week to inspire the next generation of leaders in hospitality.
The event, to be held on 10 November from 2.30pm, will feature prominent hotelier Ms Amanda Cottome, General Manager, Ovolo 1888 as the lead panelist.
With more than 24 years’ experience in the hospitality and hotel industries, students at BMIHMS at Torrens University will benefit from Ms Cottome’s expertise and her passionate advocacy for supporting and inspiring future women leaders in hospitality.
With brands such as All Seasons, Manly Beach Sebel and Urban Hotel Group on her resume, Ms Cottome’s has a track record in boosting the rankings of her employer hotels, having achieved fifth place for Ovolo in last year’s TripAdvisor Top Hotels in Australia chart, as well as a TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice Award.

As lead panelist, Ms Cottome will discuss her personal career experience as well as current trends within the sector, while providing an open Q&A forum, giving students the chance to gain greater insight into potential future career directions from those working in, and leading, the field.
Previous panelists include Mercure Sydney International Airport General Manager Lorraine Mercuri, world-renowned dynamic hotelier and restaurateur Loh Lik Peng, Founder and Director of the Unlisted Collection; Craig Hooley, General Manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney; and Rachel Argaman, CEO, TFE Hotels.
Since 2014 the BMIHMS Leadership Speaker Series (LSS) has been creating panel discussions for BMIHMS students to learn and engage with those at the forefront of the hospitality industry. Classes currently studying management subjects such as leadership will attend, as well as students watching live from Leura Campus and across the globe via YouTube.
